The NGO was founded in 1952 with the purpose to shelter young women from the Brazilian countryside who had moved to Rio de Janeiro in the pursuit of a better life.
Over time, the NGO has started to render social assistance in multiple areas. Currently it develops and manages several social projects related to education, health, culture and social entrepreneurship.
